Olinda is a gem. The city has some of the best-preserved colonial buildings in Brazil, a reason why UNESCO has declared it a “monument to humanity”.
The city’s mixed Dutch and Portuguese heritage have left it a number of architectural highlights. The best way to see the town is to stroll around the cobbelstone streets, and look at all the colonial houses, mansions and churches.
